The story bears an uncomfortably close resemblance to an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, “Strange Miracle,” that was broadcast February 13, 1962. The teleplay was written by frequent Night Gallery dramatist Halsted Welles, based on a story by George Langelaan. I have no explanation for the similarity, and have never been able to find in print the C. B. Gilford short story that provided the source material for this episode.
